Painted surfboard by David Gilmore

Art stuff

Originally found here, this work was originally completed by artist David Gilmore (not to be confused with David Gilmour from Pink Floyd).

Here is what the commishioner had to say about it.

Here's some more info on the board:

Over the course of the past couple months, I contacted my shaper to start shaping another board for me. While the board was being shaped, I was thinking about drawing some artwork for my board, but I remembered meeting an artist a while back that I really loved the style of. I met him (David) at the Long Beach Belmont Shore chalk art competition, which he ended up winning, and I was absolutely blown away by his artwork. The contrast, uniqueness, and plain richness of his artwork astounded me. I needed his artwork on my board. So I contacted him, and after a couple weeks of dialing in what I wanted, he drove down to pick up the board, bring it back, and paint on it. Around 10 days later, this was the final result.

5'11" Def model, by Album. Shaped by Matt Parker.

Artwork by David Gilmore, based off my girlfriend.

Acrylic, painted on the board, underneath the final gloss coats.
