After the lay day on Friday, action resumed over the weekend. Saturday, Wright grabbed her first victory as a pro-surfer over Sally Fitzgibbons in the Roxy Pro at Snapper Rocks.
"I think what it is that's made this win so special is just the lead-up to it -- the hard work that I've put in, the ups and downs, trying to grow up, trying to find what I want to do," she said.
"And it's just an awesome moment to have people you love surrounding you."
Well you can't blame her for being happy, congrats girl. You can check out a full gallery of the events here.

After the event she talked about at season's end she debated her career in surfing, but after some encouraging words from her family she stuck it out.
"I'm 18 now. I'm not a little kid, I don't have to be what people tell me to be -- I can be who I am. I think that's one of the main things I've learned over the six months is I'm most happy when I'm being who I am and not worrying about how people expect me to act."
Is it just me or is it refreshing to hear a young kid talk so maturely? I know a few 23-year-olds that could take some pointers from her. She has a world of potential and a great mindset to boot. So again, congratulations on the win.
