Surfing as an Olympic Sport?

It may be soon

I still don't get why surfing isn't an Olympic sport but hey, at the very least it may be soon. Fernando Aguerre, the president of the International Surfing Association (ISA) is making the case to the International Olympic Committee. He is talking about how surfing has had a positive impact on the people of Peru and will hold meetings at the Sports For All conference in Peru later this year.

There won't be surfing at the 2016 Olympics in Rio because the sports have already been chosen. In September, however, the IOC must announce the location for the 2020 Olympics and a list of sports. So it seems Mr. Aguerre you have until September to state the case. Good Luck.

Here are a few current Olympic sports for you to think about.

-Shooting

-Golf

-Synchronized Swimming

-Beach Volleyball

-Taekwondo

-Handball

After seeing this list, I find it hard to believe surfing can't make it on there.
