Sally Fitzgibbons is an Australian professional surfer on the Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour.
Born in Nowra, NSW Australia she is among the most spirited and likeable surfers you might ever meet.
She announced herself as ‘one to watch’ aged 15, clean-sweeping an Aussie Pro Junior event, winning the U/16, U/18 and U/21 finals back-to-back, on the same day.Within 18 months, Sally achieved international acclaim by becoming the first surfer, male or female, to hold both the ISA World Junior and ASP World Junior titles simultaneously.
During the same period, she was also crowned the Australasian Junior Series champion a second time. By mid 2008 Sally set a new record. She became the quickest-ever surfer to qualify for the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Tour and easily won the 2008 Women’s ASP World Qualifying Series. Sally has been runner-up in the ASP World Tour title race for the last three years (2010, 2011 and 2012).
Three-time Women’s World Champion surfer Stephanie Gilmore describes Sally as ‘beautiful, athletic, genuine, smart, dedicated’, five words that together are the hallmarks of a champion.
