6 ft Shark Lands on Surfer's Board at Bondi Beach

Not the average Bondi Beach encounter

Dean and mate JJ's early morning surf this morning got pretty interesting when a 6 ft Bronze Whaler landed on his board, just inches from his face. Dean was just pulling himself up onto a smallish wave when the denzine of the deep went for him.

"I was looking pretty closely at it from the angle I was at. It was probably about three to four inches (7-10 centimetres), maybe a bit more, from my face." Dean told the SMH.

"It came underneath my mate who got a fairly good look at it, and then it's gone just like that," Mr Norburn said. JJ said he had heard a shout and looked over to see a mess of fins and splashing. Apparently the phone call to his wife was a bit interesting but the two friends made a pact that they be down at the water tomorrow for an early surf.
